UPDATE | COVID-19 VACCINATION IN ADOLESCENTS FROM 12 YEARS OF AGE

In keeping with advice from the Australian Technical Advisory Group on Immunisation (ATAGI), Melbourne Paediatric Specialists recommends children who are 12 – 18 years of age receive the COVID-19 vaccine. A two dose schedule using the Pfizer or Moderna vaccine is recommended.

  • Melbourne Paediatric Specialists is dedicated to the safe care of our patients.
  • Melbourne Paediatric Specialists is currently providing Telehealth consultations for new and existing patients. However, Face-to-face appointments at the clinic may be available for patients when clinically indicated.
  • VACCINATION: All staff at Melbourne Paediatric Specialists (practice admin team and practitioners) are fully vaccinated against COVID-19

APPOINTMENTS AND REFERRALS

Before making an appointment:

Your child will need a referral letter from your GP to see a paediatric doctor at Melbourne Paediatric Specialists.
(This includes a paediatrician, paediatric subspecialist or surgeon).

GP referrals are generally valid for 12 months only.
After 12 months, you will need your GP to make a new referral. You will also need a new GP referral letter if you are attending for a new problem.

Note: Referrals provided by a specialist are only valid for 3 months.

TO MAKE AN APPOINTMENT

New Patients / New Referrals →

For acute or urgent referrals, please ask your GP to contact us directly. Your GP may need to discuss your case with one of our paediatricians to arrange an early appointment.

NOTE: Unfortunately several of our Paediatricians and Paediatric Sub-Specialists are currently FULLY BOOKED and NOT accepting new referrals or making appointments for new patients at this time. Their waiting lists are also full. Please check individual practitioner pages for their availability.

No Appointments Available - Developmental & Behavioural Paediatricians are fully booked and not taking new patients.
Our Paediatric Endocrinologists are all fully booked. Not accepting new patients or new referrals.

What to bring to your first appointment:

  • Medicare card
  • Referral letter from your GP
    (you will have uploaded a copy of this letter via our online form when requesting a New Patient Appointment)
  • Your child’s Health and Development Record
    (blue or green book)
  • Any previous assessments or reports for your child
    (e.g. X-rays, blood tests, speech / psychology / cognitive assessments, school reports)

Please arrive with your child 10 mins prior to the time booked for your first appointment.

Cancellation Policy

*Cancellation fees may apply to missed appointments.
Please contact the rooms at least 48 hours in advance of your appointment if you are unable to attend and/or need to reschedule your booked time.

Late cancellations or anytime you fail to attend a scheduled appointment, without giving appropriate prior notice of cancellation, may incur a fee. (This fee is not rebatable through Medicare).
