Clinical Areas of Interest
Lisa has a broad range of clinical areas of interest, as her main focus is on how to support the child, family and carers in assisting the child to participate fully in their everyday occupations of play/leisure, self care and productivity (kinder/school).
She is established with working with children with specific diagnoses, such as Autism Spectrum Disorder and Developmental Delay, as well as with children who have emerging difficulties and are in the process of assessment. Lisa has extensive experience in Developmental and Autism Spectrum Disorder assessments, and has worked as part of multidisciplinary assessment teams at Western Health and RCH.
Lisa is skilled in using a variety of formal and informal assessment methods, in order to gather information and provide a comprehensive picture of the child’s current strengths and challenges in their everyday occupations. Lisa understands the child’s needs to participate in their everyday activities in their natural environment of home/kinder/school/community and how she can assist in changing the environment or activity to better support the child.
Lisa is focussed on providing best practice interventions, in a family and child centred way, with an emphasis on team coordination to promote the optimal outcome for the child and family. Lisa provides goal focussed OT intervention, with outcome measures to demonstrate the child and family’s progress towards their goals.
